Persecution in America

This blog post is not to suggest the persecution in America is anything like the persecution in other countries. The Voice of the Martyrs is an incredible organization. You should check them out to see how you can help brothers and sisters under persecution in other countries.

The persecuted church is a real thing. This is where our country is heading. This is where some people want it to go.

I have been called a fool by a Catholic that believes that in order to grow spiritually you need the teachings of the Catholic church and the Bible is only a part of what a person needs. I have also been called a fool by an atheist that says there is no God, yet he judges the behavior of others as "right" or "wrong" in some morality he believes everyone should have. Without God, there are no absolutes, and if what God expects changes with society as the Catholic church believes then these two groups are in agreement that right and wrong are a personal choice. If this is the case then our lives don't really matter.

Time to make the T-shirts.

Some suggest we have a basic instinct to survive and reproduce and this is why life matters. This is trying to explain the meaning of life by taking out God. Looking out my back window into a forest, or when I have had the opportunity to walk along a beach or hold a newborn baby I see the folly of denying the creator of the universe.

If God loves everybody and accepts me the way that I am, why can't you?

American Christians do not understand tribulation. Where the country is headed though does not look promising. People want to be their own gods without having to take responsibility for what the Bible calls sin. God is love one performer once stated, so he would accept everyone. 2 Peter 3:9 states "The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance" (ESV). The promise is that Christians are crying out for judgment day and want Christ to come back so that evil will be no more.

God does love you. God does hate evil though. Evil will be done away with.

Heaven is waiting to be set on fire and dissolve in order to give you a chance to repent. You will perish if you don't.

It is not about you or me becoming comfortable in our sins. It is about glorifying God with our lives. We do not set what is right or wrong, God does. The desire to be our own gods is strong, and as the world drives itself to evil those that stand with who God is, as described in the Bible, will be driven to silence as uncomfortable voices. In fact, in order to ease their consciences, they will demand that Christians admit that a sinful life is OK.

This is not a big leap, a lot of "Christian" churches have already embraced this idea. The thinking now goes, "I'm a Christian and I think people have the right to do what they want to do. They can _____________________." and the blank is filled with the sin of choice whether it be abortion, idolatry, lovers of self, greed, sensuality, homosexuality, drunkenness, mistreatment of those less fortunate, racism, unhospitable, neglecting the poor and widows, or anything else the Bible calls sin. Well, if a "Christian" says it is OK, then it must be OK. Paul writes of similar heresies of his day, where Christians are making up what they want and not following what God has said in his Word.

Revelation that goes against what it says in the Bible is not new teaching from God.

Mankind tends to get more wicked the longer we are around. The world was destroyed in Noah's day by a great flood. The ending of the world as we know it is approaching as it is predicted in the Bible. That involves persecuted Christians. Those embracing the world and denying God do not want to be reminded that there is an absolute right and wrong, whether they are disguised as Christians or not. See, Christianity will not be outlawed or persecuted, but those that follow the outdated and oppressive absolutes of Scripture will be.

We need to keep praying and stand firm. We answer to God, not man.

Be blessed.
