Is that what we read in the news?
With all the advancements in science, and the science of the mind, things must be getting better. Christianity can now be put aside as a superstition because the world has grown up and advanced to the point where humanity can rely on themselves. This is what is taught in college and this is the liberal agenda.
Enlightenment, knowing, being a part of the special crowd, being in the future not the past. There is no right and wrong only what is right and wrong for the individual.
Satan doesn't even have to get creative, this is the same theme we find in the Garden in Genesis 2. Don't listen to what God says, do what you want, do what is right for you. When the evil is seen try to avoid the consequences.
As I am writing this blog post the West Coast is on fire. Arson and violent protests claiming to be peaceful are valued more than the church. Political unrest runs rampant through our country. A quick google search and mental disorders are said to be in 1 of every 5 people. Worldly wisdom is not the answer.
2 Peter 1: 3-4, "His divine power has granted to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of him who called us to his own glory and excellence, by which he has granted to us his precious and very great promises, so that through them you may become partakers of the divine nature, having escaped from the corruption that is in the world because of sinful desire."
The corruption in the world is due to sinful desire. No matter what anyone wants to blame the world for, God's Word has told us the problem. To escape this corruption the scripture does not say "oppose the government." It does not say "get what is coming to you," or "abuse others and their property to make a point." Read your Bible, that is how to get the knowledge of him who is calling us to his glory and excellence. God's divine power has "granted to us all things that pertain to life and godliness," Follow that.
2 Timothy 3:14-17, "But as for you, continue in what you have learned and have firmly believed, knowing from whom you learned it and how from childhood you have been acquainted with the sacred writings, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work."
Go to the sacred writings, go to the Bible. That is where we find wisdom for salvation. We want to be equipped for every good work and be pleasing to God.
I find Christian people discussing these issues on the internet and they don't mention that this is all about sin. I'm not justifying anyone's sinful actions, but brothers and sisters if you are reacting in an ungodly way you are sinning. Keep in mind our fleshly way of thinking is probably going to be our first reaction. All of our reactions should be with Scripture used in context and with prayer.
Be honest believers. If you have spent any amount of time on the internet your reaction is not a righteous one. Look at what you post on your own social media. How much of it is Scripture and how much of it is judging other people?
"Oh no, not me, I'm bringing up social injustices," or "I just tell it like it is." Again, how much of that do you have scripture attached to what you are saying? It is Scripture that makes you equipped for every good work, not worldly thinking. Scripture that is profitable for teaching, reproof, correction, and for training in righteousness. Most of this is for us, because the wicked man isn't looking for this kind of wisdom.
"That's what I'm talkin' about! Evil people don't follow God's Word!" My friends, that does not give you license to walk in wicked ways.
Follow God's ways, not man's ways.
